It's nuts that #Mastodon STILL hasn't provided a simple runtime option for instance administrators to set larger permitted post sizes (rather than 500). Having to go in, modify code, and rebuild the stack just to change that one parameter feels like a restriction that would have been thought up in the old Soviet Union. Sidenote: I set mine to 20K. Never used half of that so far though. C'mon!
