how do people feel about having an explicit box type at all? if we had one, it would probably be called heap and the compiler would manage it mostly transparently.

you'd instantly get the ability to combine multiple structs into a larger struct and save on memory indirection

and it would leave lots of room for me to try and support more low level stuff. that stuff would probably feel less bolted on.
