I've deleted so many apps because the platform forces me to the app when I click a link. Medium, NYT, Pinterest, Reddit, etc.
Now Reddit has an non-dismissible popup demanding you download their app to continue scrolling. Fuck all the way off with that bullshit.
Reddit's fall from grace has been hard to watch. Reddit was my first real exposure to internet culture. The first time I went "viral" was on Reddit. I had a 15 year old account that I recently deleted.

today i am looking at packing data structure nodes into pages while maintaining copy on write.
my unit of copy on write is the disk page. to make copy on write work you have to enforce a single incoming parent. we can do this, but we want to stuff multiple nodes into a page, meaning that if we move a node that's pointed to, we have to update the parent node to point to the new location.
there are a good number of indirections we could use to make things cheaper, i'm currently evaluating them

One of my colleagues told me that I helped him + I was curious what he meant. He said that he cannot remember exactly what I said but that it made him get help to heal. I then recalled a conversation we had a little over a year ago. I had made a comment about how negatively he was talking about himself. I mentioned that I was working on that myself.
He thanked me + told me how strong + brave I am for making it through all the stuff I’ve had to deal with.

a) requires a highly skilled operator to verify the output isn't bollocks
b) requires a lot of back and forth getting it to appear to be actually doing what what you wanted.
c) still requires you to go write the code yourself to make sure you didn't inadvertently let an error slip into your thinking process. because like it's a slot machine and it fucks with your cognitive biases.
