Tech debt is like a gym membership:
You ignore it for years, then one day you try to fix it and realize you're too out of shape to even start.

fail2ban seems to be able to ban about 20 IPs/sec. That's not really gonna do the trick when I'm getting 200 reqs/sec.

That puts it so succinctly. Agreed 100%.
*especially* if you point out that the LLM has hallucinated, and they keep doing it. (which I say, because... it's happened to me repeatedly.)

@lcamtuf @simplenomad This. Use of an LLM says: "This communication is not worth *my* time. I'm sending it to you though, and I expect that you personally will spend your limited time and attention on it."
IMO, the choice to use an LLM for communication is an indicator of disrespect for your audience.

@simplenomad To me, quality is secondary. I want to know if the text I'm reading comes from a human simply because human writing is rate-limited while LLM writing is not.
If you wrote it yourself, I know you cared enough to invest hours of your time into it, so it's probably worth minutes of my time to read and engage. With LLM-generated text, this no longer holds, so it's sort of "deny by default" because there are only so many hours in a day.
I guess it's sort of a fundamental question of whether we see any inherent value in the human condition, or the goal is just to maximize blog posts per hour.
