Codeberg don't have the resources to be cops so they seem to be focused on dealing with the most scammy projects, while if a project is obviously for trans healthcare that is much less likely to be affected

The exact wording of the terms-of-service is Content that harms the reputation of Codeberg, such as cryptocurrency related projects, which to me implies that the reputational harm is the key issue with crypto projects.

Sourcehut have an explicit escape clause for their terms-of-service ban in the blogpost announcing the change:

We will exercise discretion when applying this rule. If you believe that your use-case for cryptocurrency or blockchain is not plagued by these social problems, you may ask for permission to host it on SourceHut, or appeal its removal, by contacting support.

Perhaps Codeberg could have a similar "escape hatch". Crypto projects are banned but if you can prove to the maintainers that you're doing it for trans healthcare purposes and not grifting then they'll let you keep the project online

Between writing and coding, I've managed to build a career working from home (every time I've had a job that required working from the office I've basically collapsed mentally after 2-3 years) and now both are being threatened. What accessibility benefits might be had from the tech are not worth the harm it does to others

Slightly off topic, but this reminds me of something...

Something that isn't talked about enough in the AI and disability discussion is how many creative careers (and software development too) were taken up by neurodivergent people who could take advantage of the flexible hours and work from home opportunities. These are often quite important accessibility needs that aren't readily imparted by employers.

Nowadays if someone wants a piece of work flexibly and via a computer, they can prompt a chatbot for a "good enough" result.

The result of this is while some disabled people are talking about AI's accessibility potential (e.g. for describing images), other disabled people (including myself!) are finding themselves in an extremely precarious position thanks to AI displacement

In my humble opinion, many instances of ‘writer’s block’ are in fact ADHD or autistic burnout. Writing as a job is more forgiving of neurodivergence than most, so many writers are basically subsisting on caffeine and anxiety until they hit a brick wall and their executive function collapses

Which would mean that reading up on neurodivergent burnout is more likely to help get over a writer’s block than the fluff you find in books or blogs on creativity
