I regret to inform everyone that my copy of QBittorrent escaped its sandbox last night and downloaded a whole bunch of content owned by major corporations, and then my copy of Jellyfin broke containment and added those unfortunately-downloaded media files to its various libraries. I'm conducting an internal investigation to figure out how this happened, which will involve consuming these media files until the answers become apparent. Thank you for your cooperation during this trying time.

Did a study dive last night and found some stuff which really resonated:

Neurotypical people only experience this very rarely! Camouflaging can also make this experience worse and more autism traits leads to more camouflaging. Plus, more socially motivated autistic people (again, myself, despite my isolation I am not particularly introverted, I just have social difficulties) are more likely to have these difficulties.

- normally, IceCube detects very high energy cosmic rays that hit something in the Earth's atmosphere and then shower to the ground/ice/detector.
- during these air showers, there is a competition between particles decaying vs hitting an air molecule
- if it hits an air molecule, some of the energy goes there and isn't detected in neutrinos
- chances of hitting an air molecule depends on atmospheric air temperature and pressure
- Earth's axis is tilted enough that there is still plenty of seasonal variation at the south pole

On the one hand, they perceive the tide turning. Great.

On the other hand, they imagine it's just to look cool or something. Superficial. Rather than genuine, well-considered, criticism grounded in people's ethical orientation and other meaningful priorities.

It's fascinating to me that there are people who simply cannot imagine caring about the impact on others of our own choices and actions. Fascinating and also sad.
