Cop surveillance drones are going great.
Handshake, not a drug deal: SFPD drone case falls apart: DA officials did not say whether they agreed with Helvestine's argument that the footage showed only a handshake. But the DA's office subsequently...

@glyph i vouch for the gloves even for people who, like me, pretend they are toughguy immune to dust / allergens / co2 / etc,
any tasks that even just seem dirty, like cleaning the bathroom or yard stuff or picking up trash, i tend to extremely procrastinate about unless i've got the gloves on. then, i'm magically less apprehensive because i am armored and the ick can't hurt me
even though with a mere handwashing it probably wouldn't hurt me regardless

I don't recall ever seeing that in the wild. Do people (legal precedent) consider SCM history to cover that for you?

I'm not going to name any names (this person has already posted on X today about how people on Mastodon are being mean to him). All I'll say is that the shape of the IndieWeb is increasingly shifting toward complete reliance upon AI companies, and that just makes me sad. Where is the actual independence? Where is the respect for the craft?

I'm looking for a copy editor on the Fediverse.
It's a paid gig. I don't expect anything for free.
* Must have a track record of finished editorial work
* Must understand UK grammar and spelling
* Must have a collaborative attitude (I've paid too many people who spoke to me like I was a contestant on Kitchen Nightmares, I don't want that to happen again).
* Knowledge of fantasy and sci fi genre conventions essential, cyberpunk a bonus.

We just started the contract like last month ago too... off to a great start. 🙃

here are some tech accessories that you probably need, but do not have, or at least do not use when they would be helpful in a tech context:
- an N95 mask
- safety goggles
- nitrile glovessomewhere in your home or office, right now, there is a naaasty pile of cables that you didn't manage quite right the first time. they are covered in dust. if you get in there and fix it, you know that you're going to feel sick afterwards, so you put it off.
get your PPE on and dive in there.
I am doing the "little treat" economy for myself except all the treats are different kinds of USB cable
