this is just surveillance, and also it lets apple tag your photos as authentic so they can use them as training feedstock for a generative model later

An open source maintainer behavior I do not like is when you say "this is confusing, could you add an explanation of it in your documentation?" and they say "you are free to add a PR" and close the discussion. I'm super excited to share our upcoming paper at OOPSLA'26, "A Design Space Exploration of Async/Await". This paper asks: how differently does async/await behave across today's languages? (More than you might expect!) And what the heck is "structured concurrency", really?
Check out our ~interactive~ blog post introducing the paper:

Trying to get over a fear: I have done plenty of 2d had drawn animation immersed in 3d but I have never done anything serious with animating a rigged character in 3d. Getting anxious every time I move a thing around, how do I do this, how do I not fuck it up
And I know I don't need to be so anxious but it's so easy to worry when I try a new thing that I am just going to be really bad at it

This thought brought to by musing about (online) social media being mediated by physical location.
Say you want to hang out with one set of your friendly freaks, so you go to the location you've indicated is your friendly freak spot, and all social media is properly directed both in and out. No risk of leaking or collapsing context.
Then you need to get your public persona out and make some announcements or something, so you go to that public space you like with that old tree. Now only the public facing ins and outs are available.
Then when you're done being social, you go home, and it all turns off, or maybe is set to a very small subset of "family".
Anyway, I was thinking about that, and then I was just like, "Geez, computers are not the solution here. Get a grip."
