The most significant changes since 6.0.0 are faster installations, stronger sandboxing, native macOS app, vulnerability checks, advisory database, end of macOS 10.15 support and Intel Macs to Tier 3.

Now that these dudes are centi-billionaires, they're open and vocal about their explicitly ethnic cleansing policy positions, and get alt-right presidents elected, and end DEI, and roll back civil rights, and say that giving women the right to vote was a mistake, and talk about white birth rates.
And I have to read nonsense from journalists saying that the extreme money turned them fash?🤡
No.
You turned fash into extremely wealthy people. By being asleep at the wheel while the worst people on earth amassed untouchable levels of wealth.
Another aspect of Rust that I don’t like is its capture by companies like Amazon and Microsoft. I have no faith in the future direction of the language being anything other than slop.

From my own experience of last night, blocking the Web might have been helpful in some ways but was hardly a cure-all.
At best it probably helped break cycles of reassurance-seeking which is useful as that's when anxiety tends to flare up.
This is not nothing and I'm keeping the blocks up but sometimes I expect my problems to distill down to "too much social media" and... yeah, nah.
Social media has its benefits too (e.g. a place to express myself, a way to deal with loneliness if I'm in an isolated situation) which I actually do find quite valuable, so I'm reluctant to give up the whole thing entirely

At this point the questions should all be: when, not if, it goes off - what happens next?

Still not a fan of Rust. It took all of the worst patterns of C++ and made them safe, which results in something that’s familiar and “basically fine I guess” but extraordinarily annoying and frustrating to work with. All of the best practices for writing efficient and maintainable low-level code like avoiding allocations or branches are very awkward in Rust. It makes sense as a product of Mozilla which had one of the worst C++ code bases of all time deciding that the real problem of that code base was not architectural or structural but simply that managing all of those pointers manually was hard. In theory it should be possible to write clean Rust but none of the foundational crates are written that way. Async/await is easily the most frustrating aspect of the language and the community is determined to make everything async if it can. Compile times and resource consumption during compilation are terrible and kind of ruins the otherwise great tooling.
