Behold, this tree in Blender is made out of metaballs and paint strokes in grease pencil that I then turned into tubes. Quick and dirty. I need to make a lot of these with variation, and they just need to be "good enough", and this works!

anyway, because gc actually uses less runtime than reference counting, gc kinda saves power, provided you aren't stinging on heap size too much.

but if you want to save more power, you want to e.g. sleep threads when they're not being used. this sort of thing can be tedious so most people don't bother.
